Welcome to Gears And Shafts
Bevel gear is one type of the gears that ease our life; at least it makes a mechanic's job easier. Our civilization has known the function of gears since a very long time ago. Engineers and mechanics create tools equipped with gears; vary from a biggest to a smallest thing people can make. Sluice gates, watches, garage doors, cars, and even a bicycle equipped with gears.
Nearly all machine tools need gears to make it work properly. Unlike spur gears whose gear is alongside to the other, bevel gear is designed to form an axis between gears. Bevel gear is also different from spur gear since it is conically-shaped, while spur gear is cylindrical. It is common to mount the gears 90 degree to each other, but other degree also possible to set, depends on the machine's necessity.
